As a landscaper I’ve used a King of Spades spade for over 25 years. I’ve tried many brands of similarly shaped spade and it is the best in terms of heft, durability and quality of construction. Well worth the money.

I bought the King of Spades half-moon edger and the long pole version of the spade in the video. These are heirloom quality buy-it-for-life tools.

Ok, I have to admit this looks like a good tool. I particularly like the one piece construction. The other thing I like about this shovel is the foot support for cutting roots, my nemesis.

hand digger for metal detecting. This is the Lesche [Digging Too] and there's a lot of copies of it.

These are great because they're all one piece. They don't break, they're made out of hard metal so they're not going to bend.

I started with a home depot shovel, but for the amount of holes we dig (and in difficult terrain) you just need a good shovel.

Been using the Lesche Ground Shark Shovel for 6 months now, often getting asked how it performs, how it digs, is it good in clay. So thought for its 6 month birthday i would put a short video together of my well used, excellent performing shovel.

Shovel is 36 inches long, the blade is 12 inches long 3.5 inches wide and cuts into clay easily and makes nice neat plugs
